In 1985, while I was still fellowshipping in the Worldwide Church of God, it was said that Mystery of the Ages, Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong's last and arguably his greatest book, was the second most important book in the world! Second only to the Holy Bible. Armstrong's followers still repeat the saying, long since even the Worldwide Church of God, which Armstrong founded, stopped saying so.
Is Mystery of the Ages the second most important book in the world after the Holy Bible? Did Yahweh inspire Mystery of the Ages in its writing?
This article scripturally analyses the contents of Mystery of the Ages in an effort to answer these questions. The format adopted by the book will be followed here, with appropriate comments following selected excerpts from the book. Armstrong's words in the book are indented and printed in blue. My words are printed in black. All underlining emphasis is mine, unless stated otherwise.
All my scriptural references are to the Hebrew Names Version of the World English Bible.
