MYSTERY OF ANGELS AND EVIL SPIRITS
The Supreme Creative Accomplishment
Now as to the
prehistoric angels: God 1) created them with minds capable of thinking,
reasoning, making choices and decisions with self-will; and 2) revealed plainly
to them HIS TRUE AND RIGHTEOUS WAY. But God of necessity allowed them free
moral agency in accepting God's right way, or turning to contrary ways of their
own devising.
What was God's ULTIMATE
OBJECTIVE for the angels? Beyond question it is that which, now, because of
angelic rebellion, has become the transcendent potential of humans!
Armstrong Speculated Without Offering
Proof
Seeing that Armstrong said that his teaching came from Yah'shuah the Messiah via Scripture, WHERE is his scriptural proof to support his statements? Specifically, where is his scriptural proof to support his statement that man's transcendent potential arose out of angelic rebellion?
Is Armstrong simply giving us a theory, or is he teaching scriptural truth? And if scriptural truth, where is his scriptural backing for his teachings?
In Job 38:4, 7, God is speaking
specifically of the creation of this earth. He said all the angels (created
"sons of God") shouted for joy at the creation of the earth. This
reveals that angels were created before the creation of the earth--and probably
before the material universe. The suns, planets and astral bodies are material
substance. Angels are individually created spirit beings, composed solely of
spirit.
It will come as a
surprise to many to learn that angels inhabited this earth BEFORE the creation
of man. This passage from Job implies it.
Iyov (Job) 38: 4-7 reads, "38:4"Where were you when I laid the
foundations of the earth?
Declare, if you have understanding.
38:5Who
determined the measures of it, if you know?
Or who stretched the line on it?
38:6Whereupon
were the foundations of it fastened?
Or who laid its cornerstone,
38:7When
the morning stars sang together,
And all the sons of the Mighty One shouted for joy?"
It is pretty evident that Iyov 38: 4-7 DOES NOT imply that angels - "the sons of the Mighty One" - inhabited the earth before the creation of man! Then WHERE does Armstrong get this notion that angels inhabited the earth before man's creation? From some other scriptures or from his own theorising head? Where?
Also, it appears to me that it is NOT appropriate for one to try to read into the scripture matters that the scripture itself does not speak of! For this is tantamount to adding to scripture, adding to Yahweh's words! And does not Devarim (Deuteronomy) 4: 2 and 12: 32 teach against this practice? Then why was Armstrong, who was familiar with the two Devarim passages, trying to make scripture say what it was not saying? Was this an act of desperation in trying to find support for his theories that did not originate from the scriptures, but from his own head?
Other passages place
angels on earth prior to man.
Notice II Pet. 2:4-6.
First in time order "angels that sinned." Next in time
sequence, the antediluvian world beginning with Adam, carrying through to the
Flood. After that,
This book of books,
containing the revealed knowledge of the Creator God, tells us that God created
angels as composed of spirit. But can you imagine angels becoming sinning
angels? Angels were created with power of thought, of decision and of choice,
else they have no individuality of character. Since sin is the transgression of
God's law, these angels rebelled against God's law, the basis of God's
government.
But how and when did
the angels sin?
Notice carefully what is
revealed in II Peter 2:4-5; "For if God spared not the angels that sinned,
but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be
reserved unto judgment; and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth
person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of
the ungodly." The words "cast...down to hell" in the above verse
is an English expression translated from the Greek tartaroo, from tartaros,
found in no other Bible passage. Tartaros means a place or condition of
restraint.
These verses show that
universal sin brings universal destruction to the physical earth. The
antediluvian sin, culminating with the Flood, was worldwide, universal sin.
Notice: "...the earth was filled with violence...for all flesh had
corrupted his way upon the earth...for the earth is filled with
violence..." (Gen. 6:11-13). "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the
Lord.... Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked
with God" (verses 8-9). All flesh had sinned--over the whole earth. But
only Noah "walked with God." So, the Flood destroyed the whole
earth--all but Noah and his family.
The homosexual and other
sins of
The verses quoted above
place the sinning of the angels prior to the antediluvian sins that started
with Adam, prior to the creation of man. And
that should be a surprise revealing of one phase of the mystery! Angels
inhabited this earth before the creation of man.
It is quite EVIDENT that Armstrong is trying to make the scripture say what it is NOT saying! He is reading into scripture what is NOT contained in it! He is ADDING to scripture!
2 Kefa (Peter) 2: 4-7 reads, "2:4For if the Mighty One didn't spare angels when they sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus, and committed them to pits of darkness, to be reserved to judgment; 2:5and didn't spare the ancient world, but preserved Noach with seven others, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought a flood on the world of the unrighteous; 2:6and turning the cities of Sedom and `Amorah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, having made them an example to those who would live unrighteously; 2:7and delivered righteous Lot, very distressed by the lustful life of the wicked."
2 Kefa 2: 4-7 does NOT NECESSARILY represent accurate time sequencing. For
Armstrong Repeatedly Added To Scripture
Secondly, the passage above does not say that the angels who sinned did so before man's creation! Where in the passage does it say so?
The truth of the matter is that it DOESN'T! Armstrong is reading into the scripture matters that are not contained in the scripture, and thereby ADDING to the scripture!
Even if one concedes that broadly speaking the above passage gives a time sequence of events, the most that one can conclude is that the sin of the angels occurred before the flood! It doesn't say it occurred before man's creation! Armstrong is therefore seen to have FAILED to prove his theory that angels sinned before man's creation, and that they were on earth when they sinned!
Armstrong's Theories Unsupported By
Scripture
Armstrong says "The sin of the angels was
worldwide; the destruction of the physical was worldwide. (And there is reason
to believe, as will be explained in chapter 7, universe wide.)"
The passage above in 2 Kefa clearly shows that the people of the ancient world were here on earth. And their destruction was here on earth. It shows that the people of Sedom and Amorah were here on earth in the locality of Sedom and Amorah. And their destruction was here on earth in that locality. But WHERE in the passage does it show the locality of the angels when they sinned? Where were they?
The truth of the matter is that the passage DOES NOT SHOW! And if it doesn't show, why should Armstrong read into the passage that the angels were on earth when they sinned, when the passage itself does not say so, or show so? Is not Armstrong adding to the scripture in suggesting that the passage says so?
Also, for an indication of where the sin might have been committed, the penalty on the angels might provide a clue. In the case of the inhabitants of the earth their penalty was on earth. In the case of the angels the scripture DOES NOT tell us where Tartarus is! For Tartarus, as Armstrong rightly points out, is a place or condition of restraint. But where is Tartarus, if indeed it is a place? The passage does not tell us!
One therefore cannot deduce from this passage that the angels sinned on earth, and that the earth was destroyed with a worldwide destruction as a result of the sin of the angels! Likewise, one cannot then go on to postulate, without even having proven the first assertion, that the sin of the angels resulted in a universe-wide destruction! These are just theories originating in Armstrong's head! Yet he palms them off as truth!
Is he acting any differently to the proponents of the evolutionary doctrine that he has already castigated? It appears not!
Armstrong says, "The verses quoted above place
the sinning of the angels prior to the antediluvian sins that started with
Adam, prior to the creation of man. And that should be a surprise revealing of
one phase of the mystery! Angels inhabited this earth before the creation of
man."
As has already been seen, the verses quoted above DO NOT say what Armstrong alleges they say, or tries to make them say! For nowhere in these verses do they say that the angels sinned prior to the creation of man! And since they DO NOT say so, what Armstrong alleges is "a surprise revealing of one phase of the mystery" is NOT SO! For Armstrong has offered NO PROOF that "angels inhabited this earth before the creation of man"! He has given us his theory. But his theory is NOT PROOF!
Should one believe a theory, simply because it is Armstrong who promulgated it? Or should one believe Yahweh's words, whether communicated in the scripture or otherwise?
Angels Did Not Inhabit The Earth For Millions Of
Years
It is revealed in Isaiah
14 and Ezekiel 28, that God placed the archangel Lucifer, a cherub, on a throne
on the earth. He was placed there as a ruler over the entire earth. God
intended him to rule the earth by administering the government of God over the
earth. And the government of God was administered on earth until the rebellion
of the sinning angels.
How long these angels
inhabited the earth before the creation of man is not revealed. It might have
been millions--or even billions--of years.
More on that later. But these angels sinned. Sin is the transgression of God's
law (I John 3:4). And God's law is the basis of God's government. So we know
these angels, apparently a third of all the angels (Rev. 12:4),
sinned--rebelled against the government of God. And sin carries penalties. The
penalty for the sin of the angels is not death, as it is for man. Angels are
immortal spirit beings and cannot die. These spirit beings had been given
dominion over the PHYSICAL EARTH as a possession and an abode.
The universal,
worldwide sin of the angels resulted in the physical destruction of the face of
the earth.
Theories, theories, theories! Where is the proof for Armstrong's theories?
Beresheet 1 clearly shows that man was placed on earth on the sixth day of earth's existence. So how could angles have inhabited the earth for millions or billions of years before man's creation? Armstrong's words are clearly contradicted by Yahweh's words in Scripture!
So whom should one believe - Armstrong or Yahweh? Armstrong, a man who was born and lived for only 93 years, or the Ancient of Days, the one who had no beginning of days and has no end of life, and who created all that has been created? It is a great mockery for Armstrong to suggest that Yahweh's words in Beresheet are wrong! If he rejected them, in that he did not believe them, he should not have caused others to likewise reject them, thereby disbelieving Yahweh!
Angels Are Not Immortal Spirit Beings And Can Die
Also, where does Armstrong get his theory that "angels are immortal spirit beings and cannot die"? Where in the Scripture does it say this?
Psalm 82: 6-7 reads, " 82:6I said, 'You are mighty ones,
All of you are sons of HaElyon.
82:7Nevertheless
you shall die like men,
And fall like one of the rulers.'"
That these "sons of HaElyon", sons of the Most High, will DIE LIKE MEN, implies that they are NOT men! As already seen in Iyov 38, angels are indeed called sons of the Mighty One, HaElyon the Mighty One. That they will die like men PROVES that they are NOT IMMORTAL! For they can and will indeed die!
Armstrong is therefore seen to be preaching FICTION in saying that angels are immortal and cannot die! Just because they have not died since their creation does not automatically mean that they cannot die! Even though they have lived longer than the earth's existence, that does not automatically prove that they cannot die! The truth of the matter, going by Yahweh's words in Psalm 82: 6-7, rather than Armstrong's words, is that angels are NOT IMMORTAL and can indeed and will indeed die like men!
It is therefore evident that Yah'shuah the Messiah was indeed NOT TEACHING Armstrong these fallacies that he is teaching! For Yah'shuah, the Word of Yahweh, is Truth, and CANNOT teach falsehoods and fallacious theories! Armstrong therefore obtained his fallacious theories either from his own head or from Hasatan the devil, seeing that he said that he was not taught his teachings by any human being! And seeing that Yah'shuah the Messiah DID NOT teach him these fallacies, he must have been taught them by Hasatan the devil, if indeed he was taught them by a non-human being!
Armstrong's teachings are FALSE TEACHINGS - unworthy of one claiming to be Yahweh's Eliyah to come! The Eliyahs who came did their works according to Yahweh's commands. Their works were not contradicted by Yahweh's words, for they did Yahweh's words. But Armstrong is here clearly seen to have been contradicted by Yahweh's words, in some very fundamental ways! Armstrong is therefore proven to have been a FALSE ELIYAH to come, a FALSE PROPHET!
Mystery Of The Ages Not The Most Important Book In
1,900 Years
It should also be evident, going by his claims for this book, Mystery of the Ages, that these were just FALSE CLAIMS! Mystery of the Ages IS NOT the most important book to have been written in 1,900 years! It contains some fundamental fallacies that are contradicted by Yahweh! It is the work of a false Eliyah, a false prophet! Such a work CANNOT be the most important book written in 1,900 years! For how can a work that causes people to disbelieve Yahweh's words be the most important book to be written in 1,900 years? These are fallacies upon fallacies, falsehoods upon falsehoods!
Now back to Genesis
1:1-2. Verse 1, as stated above, implies a perfect creation. God is the author
of life, of beauty, of perfection. Satan has brought only darkness, ugliness,
imperfection, violence. Verse 1 shows the creation of a perfect, if unfinished
earth, glorious and beautiful. Verse 2 reveals the result of the sin of the
angels.
"And the earth was
[became] without form, and void." The words "without form, and
void" are translated from the Hebrew tohu and bohu. A better translation
is "waste and empty" or "chaotic, in confusion and in a state of
decay." The word "was" is elsewhere in Genesis also
translated became, as in Genesis 19:26. In other words, the earth, originally
created perfect and beautiful, had now become chaotic, waste and empty, like
our moon, except earth's surface was covered with water.
David was inspired to reveal
how God renewed the face of the earth: "Thou sendest forth thy spirit,
they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth" (Ps. 104:30).
Armstrong Twisted Scripture To Fit Into His
Theories
Armstrong is here seen making an attempt to interpret Scripture to fit into his theory, rather than allow Scripture to interpret itself - the very same charge he laid at the door of "traditional Christianity"! For he has so far failed to show from Scripture that angels inhabited the earth for millions or billions of years before man inhabited it! For, in truth, he CANNOT! For if indeed angels inhabited the earth prior to man's creation, the most period of time they could have done so was 5 days, and a portion of the sixth day. For man commenced to inhabit the earth from the sixth day of earth's existence!
And if Armstrong's theory were to hold any water, the angels would have had to sin on the very first day of their being placed on earth! That is, immediately after they were placed on earth, while it was still covered with water!
Armstrong Translated Words Out Of Context
Also, Armstrong should not make such a big issue of the Hebrew word translated "was" in Beresheet 1: 2, trying to ensure that it is translated "became", as it is indeed in Beresheet 19: 26. For words ought to be translated in the manner most agreeable to the context in which they appear. To translate hayah as it is in Beresheet 19: 26 is to fit it into Armstrong's theory, and not Yahweh's factual account as given in Beresheet 1 and 2. It therefore appears to me that in Beresheet 1: 2 hayah has been correctly translated "was", rather than Armstrong's "became"!
Armstrong's Theory About The Moon
It is also WRONG to imply that the moon is "chaotic, waste and empty" because of the sin of the angels! This is just Armstrong's theory! For the various lights in the heavens, to give light to the earth, and to rule over the day from the night, did not come into existence until the fourth day of the existence of the earth! So how could the moon have been "chaotic, waste and empty" as a result of angelic sin when it, together with other lights in the sky, had not been created?
Armstrong is indeed talking FICTION! And palming off fiction as truth! His words are NOT those of Yahweh! His words are NOT those of the Eliyah to come! His words are words of DARKNESS, for they cause people to disbelieve Yahweh, who is Light! If Armstrong's words turn people away from the Light, and the only alternative to light is darkness, are not his words those of DARKNESS?
Mystery of the Ages A Work Of Darkness
Armstrong was evidently doing the works of darkness in this work called Mystery of the Ages! Mystery of the Ages does not shed light by exposing darkness, but rather turns people away from light and into darkness! Yahweh DID NOT inspire it! It is NOT the words of Yah'shuah the Messiah! It is the work of Hasatan the devil, the prince of darkness!
This is not the work of a servant of Yahweh! It is indeed the work of a servant of Hasatan! And one who cleverly masqueraded as a servant of Yahweh! At least to those of us who were blind and were swept along by his deceptions!
Armstrong Twisted Psalm 104: 30
Psalm 104: 21-31 reads, " 104:21The young lions roar after their prey,
And seek their food from the Mighty One.
104:22The
sun rises, and they steal away,
And lay down in their dens.
104:23Man
goes forth to his work,
To his labor until the evening.
104:24Yahweh,
how many are your works!
In wisdom have you made them all.
The earth is full of your riches.
104:25There
is the sea, great and wide,
In which are innumerable living things,
Both small and great animals.
104:26There
the ships go,
And livyatan, whom you formed to play there.
104:27These
all wait for you,
That you may give them their food in due season.
104:28You
give to them; they gather.
You open your hand; they are satisfied with good.
104:29You
hide your face: they are troubled;
You take away their breath: they die, and return to the dust.
104:30You
send forth your Spirit: they are created.
You renew the face of the ground.
104:31Let
the glory of Yahweh endure forever.
Let Yahweh rejoice in his works."
This passage in Psalm 104 is in the PRESENT TENSE! It is not talking about a renewal of the earth's surface after a supposed angelic sin brought about chaos and destruction to it. It is talking about Yahweh's ongoing work with his creation here on earth, the various living things here on earth. Then why does Armstrong try to portray this verse, Psalm 104: 30, in the past tense? To give it a meaning more amenable to his fallacious theory?
Armstrong should not TWIST scriptures. Yahweh's words should not be tampered with. Devarim 4: 2 and 12: 32 clearly teach us not to add to or remove from Yahweh's words. Armstrong should have heeded these lessons contained therein!
Now another surprise
for most readers. Here is another bit of the missing dimension in knowledge,
actually revealed in the Bible, but unrecognized by religion, by science and by
higher education.
From verse 2 of Genesis
1 on, the remainder of this first chapter of the Bible is not describing
the original creation of the earth. But it is describing a renewing of the face
of the earth, after it had become waste and empty as a result of the sin of the
angels.
What is described from
verse 2 on, in the supposed creation chapter of the Bible, did occur, according
to the Bible, approximately 6,000 years ago. But that could have been
millions or trillions of years after the actual creation of the earth described
in verse 1!
Armstrong Called Fiction "The Missing
Dimension In Knowledge"
Armstrong teaches FICTION, but calls it "another bit of the missing dimension in knowledge, actually revealed in the Bible, but unrecognized by religion, by science and by higher education". Madness! Madness!
How can what the Bible contradicts be "actually revealed in the Bible"? Madness! Madness! There is NO LIGHT in these falsehoods that Armstrong is peddling here! These are words and works of DARKNESS, and not of light! Yet this book Mystery of the Ages is palmed off as the most important book written for 1,900 years! Madness!
Armstrong Masqueraded As A Servant Of
Righteousness
2 Corinthians 11: 12-15 reads, "11:12But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them that desire an occasion, that in which they boast, they may be found even as we. 11:13For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Messiah's apostles. 11:14No wonder, for even Hasatan masquerades as an angel of light. 11:15It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works."
Seeing that Armstrong declared himself a servant of righteousness, the prophesied Eliyah to come, yet his works are those of darkness, it is indeed evident that he was a FALSE APOSTLE, a DECEITFUL WORKER, MASQUERADING as an apostle of the Messiah! He is indeed EXPOSED as a minister of Hasatan, and NOT a servant of Yah'shuah!
What Armstrong calls a period "that could have been millions or trillions of years after the actual creation of the earth described in verse 1", Yahweh, in the Bible, calls a period not exceeding one day of 24 hours duration! So who is one to believe - Armstrong or Yahweh? The minister of Hasatan, or Light himself?
Armstrong's Words Of Confusion
The earth had become
waste and empty. God did not create it waste and empty, or in a state of
decay. God is not the author of confusion (I Cor. 14:33). This same
Hebrew word--tohu--meaning waste and empty, was inspired in Isaiah 45:18, where
it is translated "in vain." Using the original Hebrew word, as
originally inspired, it reads: "For thus saith the Lord that created the
heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it,
he created it not in vain [tohu], he formed it to be inhabited."
Continue now with the
remainder of verse 2 of Genesis 1 (the earth had become chaotic, waste and
empty): "And darkness was upon the face of the deep [the ocean or fluid
surface of the earth]. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light,
that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness" (verses
2-4).
Armstrong's words here suggest that the earth being "without form and void" is equivalent to "confusion"!
In this he is CONFUSING issues, for he mixes up the physical state of the earth in a phase of its construction or creation, and the mixed up or disorderly state of mind of people and how they organise their affairs! For 1 Corinthians 14: 33 is NOT talking about the creation of the earth. Yet Armstrong misapplies this scripture to the creation of the earth!
Also, by calling Yahweh's creation a "confused" creation, he is clearly seen to be at odds with angels who witnessed the creation, as shown in Iyov 38. For they shouted for joy when Yahweh created the earth in the condition that he created it! Yet Armstrong disparages and shows his derision for Yahweh's creation!
Armstrong Misapplied Yeshayahu 45: 18
Yeshayahu 45: 18 should also not be misapplied. For Yahweh says there very clearly that he did not create the earth as some useless piece of property. He had a purpose in creating the earth. And that purpose included the earth being inhabited! And Beresheet 1 and 2 shows us that it was indeed inhabited in the very first week of its existence. Thus Yahweh's words in Yeshayahu 45: 18 are confirmed by the account in Beresheet 1 and 2. Yet Armstrong comes up with his theories and tries to twist the meaning of scriptures to fit them into his fallacious theories! Madness!
Notice here, once again,
the principle of duality. Isaiah 14:12-14 applies to a time prior to the
creation of the first human, Adam. But in Revelation 12:7 and in Daniel
12:1 Satan at the end of the 6,000 years allotted to his rule on earth's
throne, tries once again to seize God's throne in heaven.
Armstrong Misapplied Yeshayahu 14: 12-14
Nowhere in Yeshayahu 14 does it say that verses 12 to 14 apply "to a time prior to the creation of the first human, Adam". Nowhere does it say so in Yeshayahu 14.
So where does Armstrong get this erroneous notion? Definitely not from Yah'shuah the Messiah! Armstrong is just theorising, and trying to make Scripture fit into his theory, rather than allow Scripture to speak for itself!
But think how long it
must have taken the soured and embittered Lucifer to turn millions of holy
angels into resentment, bitterness, disloyalty, and finally open and vicious
rebellion. It could have taken hundreds, thousands or millions of years.
This was all before the first human was created.
All this happened after
the original creation of the earth, described in verse 1 of Genesis 1. Verse
2 of this creation chapter describes a condition resulting from this sin of the
angels. The events described in verse 2, therefore, may have occurred millions
of years after the original creation of the earth.
The earth, therefore,
may have been created millions of years ago.
Armstrong Offered No Proof For His Repeated
Theories
Armstrong just talks about and repeats his theories, yet offers NO PROOF! And by severally repeating his theories he expects his readers to accept them as fact! Even if his theories are repeated a million times or more, they will still remain unproven and unprovable theories, for they are contradicted by Yahweh's word!
Now consider further.
Apparently the entire universe had been created also at the time of the earth's
creation. There is no evidence either in God's revealed Word, nor in science,
that any of the planets in endless outer space had been inhabited with any form
of life. But God does nothing in vain. He always has a purpose.
Apparently all such
planets in the entire universe NOW are waste and empty--decayed (tohu and
bohu)--like the earth was, as described in Genesis 1:2. But God did not create
them in such conditions of decay--like our moon. Decay is not an original
created condition--it is a condition resulting from a process of deterioration. Evidently if the now fallen angels had maintained the
earth in its original beautiful condition, improved it, carried out God's
instructions, and obeyed his government, they would have been offered the awesome
potential of populating and carrying out a tremendous creative program
throughout the entire universe. When they turned traitor on earth, their sin
must have also brought simultaneously physical destruction to the other planets
throughout the universe, which were potentially and conditionally put in
subjection to them.
Armstrong's Fallacious Theory About The
Earth
Theories upon theories devoid of proof!
Does Yahweh state that he created the earth in a state of decay? Is this what Beresheet 1: 2 says?
Beresheet 1: 2 reads, " 1:2Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep. The Mighty One's Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters."
Is "formless and empty" equivalent to "decayed"?
I think not! Armstrong is just promulgating his theories, and denigrating Yahweh's word in an effort to give credence to his theories! Who is greater - Armstrong or Yahweh? Whom should one believe - Armstrong or Yahweh?
Armstrong Contradicted Himself
Armstrong is also now CONTRADICTING HIMSELF! For earlier on, in quoting from 2 Kefa (Peter) 2: 4-5, he mentioned that the sin of the world in Noach's time was worldwide, and therefore the destruction was worldwide. The sin of Sedom and Amorah covered the entire territory of Sedom and Amorah, and therefore the destruction covered the entire territory of Sedom and Amorah.
Now he has said that the angels did indeed inhabit the earth. But then he says their sin had universe-wide repercussions, in that the entire universe was destroyed and entered into a state of decay! If the angels inhabited the earth, then the only habitation that should have been destroyed as a result of the sin of the angels should have been the earth, not the rest of the entire universe, which was not their habitation! Armstrong's theory is therefore seen to be INTERNALLY INCONSISTENT!
Seeing that it is internally inconsistent, and also has been refuted in several portions of it by Yahweh's word, it is indeed very evident that Armstrong's theory is just that, a theory. And a fallacious theory at that! It did not originate with Yahweh! It probably originated in Armstrong's head. If it did not, as Armstrong claims it did not, but originated from non-human sources, then it originated from Hasatan the devil!
The penalty of sin by
the angels was not death--for God had made them immortal spirit beings who
cannot die. What God gave them was THIS
EARTH as their abode and opportunity to qualify to possess and beautify the
entire UNIVERSE.
Their penalty (they
are still awaiting final judgment up to now) was disqualification--forfeiture
of their grand opportunity, perversion of mind, and a colossal earthwide CATACLYSM of destruction wreaked
upon this earth.
Armstrong Did Not Believe Scriptures He Used
If Armstrong had only believed some of the scriptures he quoted he would not have been making the erroneous statements that he is making.
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 14: 12-15 reads, " 14:12How you are fallen from Heaven, day-star, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low! 14:13You said in your heart, 'I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of the Mighty One; and I will sit on the mount of congregation, in the uttermost parts of the north. 14:14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. I will make myself like HaElyon.' 14:15Yet you shall be brought down to She'ol, to the uttermost parts of the pit."
Yeshayahu 14: 15 logically follows on from the immediately preceding verses. As the immediately preceding verses refer to the "son of the morning", it is indeed evident that the "son of the morning" will indeed be brought down to Sheol, to the uttermost parts of the pit! Does not Revelation 20: 1-3 confirm that Hasatan will indeed be cast into the pit?
Yechezkel (Ezekiel) 28: 11-19 reads, " 28:11Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 28:12'Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tzor, and tell him, "Thus says the Sovereign Yahweh: You seal up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 28:13You were in `Eden, the garden of the Mighty One. Every precious stone was your covering, the sardius, the pitdah, and the diamond, the bareket, the shoham, and the yashefay, the sappir, the yahalom, and the yahalom, and gold. The workmanship of your tambourines and of your pipes was in you; in the day that you were created they were prepared. 28:14You were the anointed Keruv who covers. And I set you, so that you were on the holy mountain of the Mighty One. You have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 28:15You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you. 28:16By the abundance of your traffic they filled the midst of you with violence, and you have sinned. Therefore I have cast you as profane out of the mountain of the Mighty One; and I have destroyed you, covering Keruv, from the midst of the stones of fire. 28:17Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness. I have cast you to the ground; I have laid you before kings, that they may see you. 28:18By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your traffic, you have profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore have I brought forth a fire from the midst of you; it has devoured you, and I have turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all those who see you. 28:19All those who know you among the peoples shall be astonished at you. You are become a terror, and you shall nevermore have any being."
When Armstrong quotes from Yechezkel 28 in reference to the king of Tzor, he quotes only verses 12 to 17. He does not continue on to verse 19. Yet the word that Yahweh gave to Yechezkel in this context begins with verse 12 and concludes with verse 19! Why does Armstrong OMIT quoting verses 18 and 19?
Verses 18 and 19 DO NOT refer to the "prince of Tzor", but to the "king of Tzor". Yahweh's words to the "prince of Tzor" are contained in verses 2 to 10. Verses 12 to 19 are his words to the "king of Tzor", the anointed and covering Keruv who profaned himself by his sin!
Also, the context of verse 18 clearly tallies with the context of verse 16, for the "king of Tzor" had an abundance of unrighteous traffic! The two verses are talking about one and the same person, and not two separate individuals as Armstrong leads people to believe!
Hasatan Will Be Turned To Ashes
In verse 18 Yahweh shows us the END OF HASATAN! Yahweh will bring forth a FIRE from the midst of Hasatan, and it will DEVOUR Hasatan, turn Hasatan to ASHES! Verse 19 shows that Hasatan SHALL NEVERMORE HAVE ANY BEING! Hasatan shall be killed and destroyed, NEVER to rise up again! Hasatan's existence will CEASE!
Hasatan is NOT IMMORTAL! He has indeed had long life. But he is NOT IMMORTAL! His existence will come to an end! He will cease to exist in the lake of fire as shown in Revelation 20!
Armstrong Preached The Falsehood That Angels
Are Immortal
Therefore, when Armstrong is telling his readers that angels are immortal and cannot die, he is simply telling them falsehoods! Angels can die, even as confirmed by Psalm 82: 6-7. Armstrong is therefore seen to have been preaching FICTION and FALSEHOODS, and causing people to believe in lies! His words are contradicted by Yahweh's words. Armstrong's words are NOT Yahweh's words. Yah'shuah the Messiah did not teach Armstrong out of the Bible these falsehoods that Armstrong preached! Armstrong either got them from his own head, or if indeed it be the case that he received them from a non-human, as he says, then they came from Hasatan the devil, the father of lies!
Armstrong is therefore evidently proven to have been a FAKE APOSTLE and a FAKE PROPHET and a FAKE ELIYAH! And he caused several people to believe in falsehoods!
When Hasatan Was Placed On Earth
It should also be noted when Hasatan was placed here on earth, seeing that he was placed in Eden, the garden of the Mighty One, as Yechezkel 28: 13 shows.
Beresheet 2: 7-8 reads, " 2:7Yahweh the Mighty One formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 2:8Yahweh the Mighty One planted a garden eastward, in `Eden, and there he put the man whom he had formed."
It is evident that garden in Eden was planted on the earth at around the time man was formed, for after man's formation he was indeed put in the garden in Eden. And seeing that the earth did not exist for more than six days prior to man's creation, any theory suggesting that there was an Eden on earth several millions or billions of years prior to man's creation is simply a theory, and a fallacious theory at that!
Since Eden, the garden of the Mighty One, was planted by Yahweh at around the time of man's creation, it should be evident that both man and Hasatan were in Eden AT THE SAME TIME! And the account in Beresheet 3 indeed proves that they were both in Eden at the same time!
Therefore Armstrong's theories that angels inhabited the earth for millions or billions of years prior to man are indeed seen to be fallacious! They are contradicted by Yahweh's word, and therefore clearly shown to be false! Armstrong was preaching falsehoods and causing people to trust in falsehoods! He was indeed a minister of Hasatan transforming himself into a minister of light, preaching the lies that originate from Hasatan, the father of lies!
