How Long Will The Sun And The Moon Exist?

Psalm 72:1-19 reads,

72:1God, give the king your justice;
Your righteousness to the royal son.

72:2He will judge your people with righteousness,
And your poor with justice.

72:3The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people;
The hills bring the fruit of righteousness.

72:4He will judge the poor of the people.
He will save the children of the needy,
And will break the oppressor in pieces.

72:5They shall fear you while the sun endures;
And as long as the moon, throughout all generations.

72:6He will come down like rain on the mown grass,
As showers that water the earth.

72:7In his days, the righteous shall flourish,
And abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.

72:8He shall have dominion also from sea to sea,
From the River to the ends of the earth.

72:9Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him.
His enemies shall lick the dust.

72:10The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will bring tribute.
The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

72:11Yes, all kings shall fall down before him.
All nations shall serve him.

72:12For he will deliver the needy when he cries;
The poor, who has no helper.

72:13He will have pity on the poor and needy.
He will save the souls of the needy.

72:14He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence.
Their blood will be precious in his sight.

72:15They shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba.
Men shall pray for him continually.
They shall bless him all day long.

72:16There shall be abundance of grain throughout the land.
Its fruit sways like Lebanon.
Let it flourish, thriving like the grass of the field.

72:17His name endures forever.
His name continues as long as the sun.

Men shall be blessed by him.
All nations will call him blessed.

72:18Praise be to Yahweh God, the God of Israel,
Who alone does marvelous deeds.

72:19Blessed be his glorious name forever!
Let the whole earth be filled with his glory!

Amen and amen.

Psalm 72 speaks about the royal son - Yah'shuah Son of King Yahweh.

72:5 implies that the sun and the moon shall continue to exist as long as generations of human beings continue to exist.

72:7 suggests that a time will come when the moon shall cease to exist!

72:17 implies that the sun will exist forever, seeing that it continues as long as the name of Yahweh's anointed continues, and the name of Yahweh's anointed continues forever.

Tying these comments with those of Jeremiah 31:35-36, it is indeed noted that the nation of Israel exists as long as Yahweh's ordinances of the sun for a light by day, and the moon and the stars for a light by night remain in operation. Seeing that Psalm 72 implies that a time is coming when the moon will cease to exist, what effect will this have on Yahweh's ordinance with the moon and the stars for a light by night? Will the ordinance continue on unabated, with only the moon, being just one among the numerous moon and starts, that are for a light by night? Meaning that even though the light of the moon will cease to rule the night, that of the stars will continue to do so?

How David Captured Zion - The City Of David

2 Samuel 5:4-9 reads,

5:4David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. 5:5In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah. 5:6The king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, Except you take away the blind and the lame, you shall not come in here; thinking, David can’t come in here. 5:7Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David. 5:8David said on that day, Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him get up to the watercourse, and strike the lame and the blind, who are hated of David’s soul. Therefore they say, There are the blind and the lame; he can’t come into the house. 5:9David lived in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. David built round about from Millo and inward.

Zion - The Dwelling Place Of The Ark Of The Covenant Of Yahweh

1 Kings 8:1 reads,

8:1Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ houses of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the city of David, which is Zion.

Yahweh's Holy Hill Of Zion

Psalm 2:6 reads,

2:6"Yet I have set my king on my holy hill of Zion."

The hill of Zion is HOLY. In other words, Yahweh has placed his presence in Zion, thereby making it holy.

Yahweh Dwells In Zion

Psalm 9:11 reads,

9:11Sing praises to Yahweh, who dwells in Zion,
And declare among the people what he has done.

That Yahweh dwells in Zion, thereby having his presence in Zion, confirms that Zion is indeed holy.

Yahweh's Anointed Will Rule From Zion

Psalm 14:7 reads,

14:7Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
When Yahweh restores the fortunes of his people,
Then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Israel's salvation will come out of Zion, as Zion is Yahweh's dwelling place, and Yahweh's salvation, Yah'shuah, his Son and Anointed One, will indeed dwell in Zion and rule Israel from Zion!

Psalm 53:6 reads,

53:6Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
When God brings back the captivity of his people,
Then shall Jacob rejoice.
Israel shall be glad.

Yahweh's Sanctuary Is In Zion

Psalm 20:1-3 reads,

20:1May Yahweh answer you in the day of trouble.
May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high,
20:2Send you help from the sanctuary,
Grant you support from Zion,
20:3Remember all your offerings,
And accept your burnt-sacrifice.

Yahweh's sanctuary is in Zion - his dwelling place.

Mount Zion - The City Of Yahweh Of Hosts

Psalm 48 reads,

A Song. A Psalm by the sons of Korah.

48:1Great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised,
In the city of our God, in his holy mountain.

48:2Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth,
Is Mount Zion, on the north sides,
The city of the great King.

48:3God has shown himself in her citadels as a refuge.

48:4For, behold, the kings assembled themselves,
They passed by together.

48:5They saw it, then were they amazed.
They were dismayed,
They hurried away.

48:6Trembling took hold of them there,
Pain, as of a woman in travail.

48:7With the east wind, you break the ships of Tarshish.

48:8As we have heard, so have we seen,
In the city of Yahweh of Hosts, in the city of our God.

God will establish it forever.

Selah.

48:9We have thought about your lovingkindness, God,
In the midst of your temple.

48:10As is your name, God,
So is your praise to the ends of the earth.
Your right hand is full of righteousness.

48:11Let Mount Zion be glad!
Let the daughters of Judah rejoice,
Because of your judgments.

48:12Walk about Zion, and go around her.
Number the towers of it;
48:13Mark well her bulwarks.

Consider her palaces,
That you may tell it to the next generation.

48:14For this God is our God forever and ever.
He will be our guide even to death.

All Men Will Go To Yahweh In Zion

Psalm 65:1-2 reads,

65:1Praise waits for you, God, in Zion.
To you shall vows be performed.

65:2You who hear prayer,
To you all men will come.

All men will go to Yahweh in Zion, where he will indeed be dwelling.

Mount Zion - Yahweh's Dwelling Place

Psalm 74:1-2 reads,

74:1God, why have you rejected us forever?
Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?

74:2Remember your congregation, which you purchased of old,
Which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your inheritance;
Mount Zion, in which you have lived.

Psalm 76:1-2 reads,

76:1In Judah, God is known.
His name is great in Israel.

76:2His tent is also in Salem;
His dwelling-place in Zion.

Psalm 78:67-68 reads,

78:67Moreover he rejected the tent of Joseph,
And didn’t choose the tribe of Ephraim,

78:68But chose the tribe of Judah,
Mount Zion which he loved.

Psalm 84:5-8 reads,

84:5Blessed is the man whose strength is in you;

Who have set their hearts on a pilgrimage.

84:6Passing through the valley of Weeping, they make it a place of springs.
Yes, the autumn rain covers it with blessings.

84:7They go from strength to strength.
Everyone of them appears before God in Zion.

84:8Yahweh, God of hosts, hear my prayer.
Listen, God of Jacob.

Psalm 87:1-3 reads,

87:1His foundation is in the holy mountains.

87:2Yahweh loves the gates of Zion
More than all the dwellings of Jacob.

87:3Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God.

Psalm 99:1-3 reads,

99:1Yahweh reigns! Let the peoples tremble.
He sits enthroned among the cherubim.
Let the earth be moved.

99:2Yahweh is great in Zion.
He is high above all the peoples.

99:3Let them praise your great and awesome name.
He is Holy!

Psalm 102:12-22 reads,

102:12But you, Yahweh, will abide forever;
Your renown endures to all generations.

102:13You will arise and have mercy on Zion;
For it is time to have pity on her.
Yes, the set time has come.

102:14For your servants take pleasure in her stones,
And have pity on her dust.

102:15So the nations will fear the name of Yahweh;
All the kings of the earth your glory.

102:16For Yahweh has built up Zion.
He has appeared in his glory.

102:17He has responded to the prayer of the destitute,
And has not despised their prayer.

102:18This will be written for the generation to come.
A people which will be created will praise Yah.

102:19For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary.
From heaven, Yahweh saw the earth;

102:20To hear the groans of the prisoner;
To free those who are condemned to death;

102:21That men may declare the name of Yahweh in Zion,
And his praise in Jerusalem;

102:22When the peoples are gathered together,
The kingdoms, to serve Yahweh.

Yahweh's Anointed Will Rule From Zion

Psalm 110:1-2 reads,

110:1Yahweh says to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand,

Until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet."

110:2Yahweh will send forth the rod of your strength out of Zion.
Rule in the midst of your enemies.

Psalm 128 reads,

A Song of Ascents.

128:1Blessed is everyone who fears Yahweh,
Who walks in his ways.

128:2For you will eat the labor of your hands.
You will be happy, and it will be well with you.

128:3Your wife will be as a fruitful vine,
In the innermost parts of your house;
Your children like olive plants,
Around your table.

128:4Behold, thus is the man blessed who fears Yahweh.

128:5May Yahweh bless you out of Zion,
And may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.

128:6Yes, may you see your children’s children.
Peace be upon Israel.

A Curse For Those Who Hate Zion

Psalm 129:5-8 reads,

129:5Let them be put to shame and turned backward,
All those who hate Zion.

129:6Let them be as the grass on the housetops,
Which withers before it grows up;

129:7With which the reaper doesn’t fill his hand,
Nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.

129:8Neither do those who go by say,
"The blessing of Yahweh be on you.
We bless you in the name of Yahweh."

Zion - Yahweh's Resting Place Forever

Psalm 132 reads,

A Song of Ascents.

132:1Yahweh, remember David and all his affliction,

132:2How he swore to Yahweh,
And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:

132:3"Surely I will not come into the structure of my house,
Nor go up into my bed;

132:4I will not give sleep to my eyes,
Or slumber to my eyelids;

132:5Until I find out a place for Yahweh,
A dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."

132:6Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah.
We found it in the field of Jaar:

132:7"We will go into his dwelling place.
We will worship at his footstool.

132:8Arise, Yahweh, into your resting place;
You, and the ark of your strength.

132:9Let your priest be clothed with righteousness.
Let your saints shout for joy!"

132:10For your servant David’s sake,
Don’t turn away the face of your anointed one.

132:11Yahweh has sworn to David in truth.
He will not turn from it:
"I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.

132:12If your children will keep my covenant,
My testimony that I will teach them,
Their children also will sit on your throne forevermore."

132:13For Yahweh has chosen Zion.
He has desired it for his habitation.

132:14"This is my resting place forever.
Here I will live, for I have desired it.

132:15I will abundantly bless her provision.
I will satisfy her poor with bread.

132:16Her priests I will also clothe with salvation.
Her saints will shout aloud for joy.

132:17There I will make the horn of David to bud.
I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.

132:18I will clothe his enemies with shame,
But on himself, his crown will be resplendant."

Psalm 133 reads,

A Song of Ascents. By David.

133:1See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!

133:2It is like the precious oil on the head,
That ran down on the beard,
Even Aaron’s beard;
That came down on the edge of his robes;

133:3Like the dew of Hermon,
That comes down on the hills of Zion:
For there Yahweh gives the blessing,
Even life forevermore.

Psalm 134 reads,

A Song of Ascents.

134:1Look! Praise Yahweh, all you servants of Yahweh,
Who stand by night in Yahweh’s house!

134:2Lift up your hands in the sanctuary.
Praise Yahweh!

134:3May Yahweh bless you from Zion;
Even he who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 135:21 reads,

135:21Blessed be Yahweh from Zion,
Who dwells at Jerusalem.

Praise Yah!

Psalm 146:10 reads,

146:10Yahweh will reign forever;
Your God, O Zion, to all generations.

Praise Yah!

Psalm 147:12-20 reads,

147:12Praise Yahweh, Jerusalem!
Praise your God, Zion!

147:13For he has strengthened the bars of your gates.
He has blessed your children within you.

147:14He makes peace in your borders.
He fills you with the finest of the wheat.

147:15He sends out his commandment on earth.
His word runs very swiftly.

147:16He gives snow like wool,
And scatters frost like ashes.

147:17He hurls down his hail like pebbles.
Who can stand before his cold?

147:18He sends out his word, and melts them.
He causes his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

147:19He shows his word to Jacob;
His statutes and his ordinances to Israel.

147:20He has not done this for any nation;
They don’t know his ordinances.

Praise Yah!

Psalm 149 reads,

149:1Praise Yahweh!
Sing to Yahweh a new song,
His praise in the assembly of the saints.

149:2Let Israel rejoice in him who made them.
Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

149:3Let them praise his name in the dance!
Let them sing praises to him with tambourine and harp!

149:4For Yahweh takes pleasure in his people.
He crowns the humble with salvation.

149:5Let the saints rejoice in honor.
Let them sing for joy on their beds.

149:6May the high praises of God be in their mouths,
And a two-edged sword in their hand;

149:7To execute vengeance on the nations,
And punishments on the peoples;

149:8To bind their kings with chains,
And their nobles with fetters of iron;

149:9To execute on them the written judgment.
All his saints have this honor.

Praise Yah!
