Contrast Between Light And Darkness
John 3:14-21 reads,
3:14As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so
must the Son of Man be lifted up, 3:15that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have
eternal life. 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only
Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 3:17For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the
world, but that the world should be saved through him. 3:18He who believes in
him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he
has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God. 3:19This is the
judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness
rather than the light; for their works were evil. 3:20For everyone who does
evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, for fear that his works
would be reproved. 3:21But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works
may be revealed, that they have been done in God.
Don't Yah'shuah's words contrast light against darkness? Doesn't Yah'shuah equate darkness with evil works? Doesn't Yah'shuah equate a love for darkness with the doing of evil works? Seeing that light is contrasted against darkness, and seeing that loving darkness is equated with doing evil works, isn't it the case that loving light is equated with doing the truth? Isn't doing the truth doing works in Yahweh?
And what is truth?
John 1:14 reads,
1:14The
Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one
and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:16-17 reads,
1:16From
his fullness we all received grace upon grace. 1:17For
the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
John 4:21-26 reads,
4:21Jesus
said to her, "Woman, believe me, the hour comes,
when neither in this mountain, nor in
4:25The
woman said to him, "I know that Messiah comes," (he who is called
Christ). "When he has come, he will declare to us all things."
4:26Jesus
said to her, "I am he, the one who speaks to
you."
John 8:30-32 reads,
8:30As
he spoke these things, many believed in him. 8:31Jesus
therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, "If
you remain in my word, then you are truly my
disciples. 8:32You will know the truth,
and the truth will make you free."
Doesn't it appear that truth - whatever it is - is known by those who remain in Yah'shuah's word? In other words, isn't it a prerequisite that to know the truth one must indeed remain in Yah'shuah's word?
John 8:39-40 reads,
8:39They
answered him, "Our father is Abraham."
Jesus said to them, "If
you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. 8:40But now you seek to
kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham didn’t do this.
Isn't truth that which one hears from Yahweh, for this is how Yah'shuah here defines it? In other words, isn't truth Yahweh's word?
Remain In Yah'shuah's Word
To Know Yahweh's Word
Going by what Yah'shuah stated in John 8:31-32, isn't it the case that those who remain in Yah'shuah's word know Yahweh's word? And isn't the reason why they know Yahweh's word the fact that Yah'shuah speaks Yahweh's word? In other words, isn't it the case that the word Yah'shuah speaks is really Yahweh's word, for he simply speaks what he has heard from Yahweh? In other words, isn't Yah'shuah's word Yahweh's word?
John 14:6 reads,
14:6Jesus
said to him, "I am the way, the truth,
and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Seeing that Yah'shuah is the truth, isn't it the case that he is Yahweh's word, seeing that truth is Yahweh's word? In other words, isn't Yah'shuah the embodiment of Yahweh's word?
Seeing that Yah'shuah stated in John 4:23-24 that those who worship Yahweh must worship him in spirit and in truth, and seeing that Yah'shuah is truth, isn't it the case that those who worship Yahweh must worship him in Yah'shuah?
John 14:16-18 reads,
14:16I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with
you forever, — 14:17the Spirit of truth, whom
the world can’t receive; for it doesn’t see him, neither knows him. You know
him, for he lives with you, and will be in you. 14:18I will not leave
you orphans. I will come to you.
Seeing that truth is Yah'shuah, isn't it the case that the Spirit of truth is the Spirit of Yah'shuah?
The Guiding Of The Spirit
Of Yah'shuah
John 16:12-15 reads,
16:12"I have yet many things to tell you, but you can’t bear
them now. 16:13However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will
guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever
things he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you the things that are
coming. 16:14He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and
will declare it to you. 16:15All things whatever the Father has are mine; therefore I said
that he takes of mine, and will declare it to you.
Isn't it the case that the Spirit of Yah'shuah guides Yah'shuah's servants into all of Yahweh's word - all of Yah'shuah?
John 17:17 reads,
17:17Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth.
Loving Yah'shuah Is Doing
Yah'shuah's Word
Going back to John 3:14-21, wasn't it seen that loving light is equated with doing the truth? And seeing that truth is Yahweh's word - Yah'shuah's word - and Yah'shuah, isn't it the case that loving light is doing Yahweh and Yah'shuah's word? Isn't it therefore the case that loving Yah'shuah is equated with doing Yah'shuah's word?
Those Devoid Of Yahweh's
Love In Themselves
John 5:39-44 reads,
5:39"You search the Scriptures, because you think that in
them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me. 5:40Yet you will not
come to me, that you may have life. 5:41I don’t receive glory from men. 5:42But I know you,
that you don’t have God’s love in yourselves. 5:43I have come in my
Father’s name, and you don’t receive me. If
another comes in his own name, you will receive him. 5:44How can you
believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that
comes from the only God?
Isn't it the case that those who do not have Yahweh's love in themselves are those who do not receive those whom Yahweh has sent to them? Doesn't this imply that those with Yahweh's love in themselves are those who receive Yahweh's word - Yah'shuah - by messengers sent by Yahweh? In other words, isn't it the case that loving Yahweh is equated with doing Yahweh's word, just as loving Yah'shuah is equated with doing Yah'shuah's word? And seeing that Yah'shuah's word is indeed Yahweh's word, isn't it the case that he who loves Yah'shuah loves Yahweh?
John 8:42 reads,
8:42Therefore
Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father,
you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For neither have I
come of myself, but he sent me.
Emulate Yah'shuah's Love
For His Father
John 12:23-28 reads,
12:23Jesus
answered them, "The time has come for the Son of
Man to be glorified. 12:24Most assuredly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into
the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much
fruit. 12:25He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in
this world will keep it to eternal life. 12:26If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there
will my servant also be. If anyone serves
me, the Father will honor him.
12:27"Now my soul is troubled. What shall I say? ‘Father,
save me from this time?’ But for this cause I came to this time. 12:28Father, glorify
your name!"
Then there came a voice out of the sky,
saying, "I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again."
Isn't the manifestation of Yah'shuah's love for his Father an example servants of Yah'shuah should emulate in their love for Yah'shuah? Didn't Yah'shuah manifest a willingness to serve Yahweh even to the degree of losing his life in this world? Shouldn't Yah'shuah's servants manifest a willingness to serve him even to the degree of losing their lives in this world? Isn't this willingness truly loving Yah'shuah, doing his word even when the cost for so doing is the loss of our lives in this world?
Do Not Love Your Life In
This World
John 12:42-43 reads,
12:42Nevertheless
even of the rulers many believed in him, but because of the Pharisees they
didn’t confess it, so that they wouldn’t be put out of the synagogue, 12:43for they loved men’s praise more than
God’s praise.
Didn't many of the rulers love their lives in this world, for rather than confess what they believed, that Yah'shuah was indeed the Messiah, they held back? Didn't many of the rulers love the praise of men more than Yahweh's praise? Isn't this an example that Yah'shuah's servants ought not to follow? Didn't Yah'shuah say in 12:25 that those who love their lives in this world will lose it, meaning lose out on eternal life? Doesn't loving Yah'shuah therefore entail facing whatever human penalty that is imposed on account of abiding by Yah'shuah's word?
John 14:15 reads,
14:15If you love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:21 reads,
14:21One who has my commandments, and keeps them, that person is
one who loves me. One who loves me
will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.
John 14:23-26 reads,
14:23Jesus
answered him, "If a man loves me, he will keep
my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our
home with him. 14:24He who doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words. The word which
you hear isn’t mine, but the Father’s who sent me. 14:25I have said these things to you, while still living with you.
14:26But
the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he
will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.
John 14:28 reads,
14:28You heard how I told you, ‘I go away, and I come to you.’ If
you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I said ‘I am going to my
Father;’ for the Father is greater than I.
Follow Yah'shuah's Example
Of His Love For His Father
John 14:30-31 reads,
14:30I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the
world comes, and he has nothing in me. 14:31But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as
the Father commanded me, even so I do.
Arise, let us go from here.
Isn't it the case that those who follow Yah'shuah's example of his love for his Father do whatever it is that Yah'shuah commands of them - even shedding their lives in this world?
John 15:8-15 reads,
15:8"In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much
fruit; and so you will be my disciples. 15:9Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain
in my love. 15:10If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even
as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love. 15:11I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in
you, and that your joy may be made full.
15:12"This is my commandment, that you love one another,
even as I have loved you. 15:13Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his
life for his friends. 15:14You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you. 15:15No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t
know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I
heard from my Father, I have made known to you.
John 15:17-25 reads,
15:17"I command these things to you, that you may love one
another. 15:18If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before
it hated you. 15:19If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because
you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the
world hates you. 15:20Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not
greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If
they kept my word, they will keep yours also. 15:21But all these
things will they do to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who
sent me. 15:22If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had
sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 15:23He who hates me,
hates my Father also. 15:24If I hadn’t done
among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have had sin. But now
have they seen and also hated both me and my Father. 15:25But that the word
may be fulfilled which was written in their law, ‘They hated me without a
cause.’
Isn't it the case that those who hate those who are sent also hate the one who sends them? Such that if one hates a servant of Yah'shuah it is because that one hates Yah'shuah? Doesn't it therefore seem to be the case that those who love those who are sent love the one who sends them? Such that if one loves a servant of Yah'shuah that one also loves Yah'shuah?
