Are Those Who Leave Father Or Wife For Yah'shuah's Sake Not Compensated Alike?

Mark 10:28-31 reads,

10:28Peter began to tell him, "Behold, we have left all, and have followed you."

10:29Jesus said, "Most assuredly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the gospel’s sake, 10:30but he will receive one hundred times now in this time, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life. 10:31But many who are first will be last; and the last first."

Why didn't Yah'shuah include fathers and wives among the compensatory rewards to be received in this life by those who have left a father or a wife for his sake and for the gospel's? Does this mean that one who leaves a father or a wife will not be compensated with another father or another wife?

Did not Yah'shuah note that those who left a mother - singular - would be compensated with mothers - plural? Isn't it physically impossible for one to have more than one mother? Don't Yah'shuah's words therefore imply that those called mothers among the compensatory rewards are women who act as mothers to those who left a mother, even though they are not the biological mothers of such a person? In the same vein, can't there also be men acting as fathers to those who have left a father? Isn't it likely that just as there are women acting as mothers to those who have left a mother, there are men acting as fathers to those who have left a father? In other words, don't they become fathers to the fatherless?

Seeing that there are men acting as fathers to those who have left a father, isn't it also plausible that there are women who become wives to those who have left a wife? And just as there is more than one woman acting as a mother to one who has left a mother, isn't there more that one woman becoming a wife to a man who has left a wife for Yah'shuah's sake and that of the gospel's?

Doesn't it therefore appear that even though Yah'shuah is not quoted as having mentioned fathers and wives these are not excluded from among the compensatory rewards in this life for those who leave a father or a wife for his sake and that of the gospel's?

Prophecy Concerning The Birth Of John

Luke 1:5-25 reads,

1:5There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the priestly division of Abijah. He had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. 1:6They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord. 1:7But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they both were well advanced in years. 1:8Now it happened, while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his division, 1:9according to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to enter into the temple of the Lord and burn incense. 1:10The whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense.

1:11An angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. 1:12Zacharias was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell on him. 1:13But the angel said to him, "Don’t be afraid, Zacharias, because your request has been heard, and your wife, Elizabeth, will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. 1:14You will have joy and gladness; and many will rejoice at his birth. 1:15For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will drink no wine nor strong drink. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. 1:16He will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord, their God. 1:17He will go before his face in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

1:18Zacharias said to the angel, "How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years."

1:19The angel answered him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God. I was sent to speak to you, and to bring you this good news. 1:20Behold, you will be silent and not able to speak, until the day that these things will happen, because you didn’t believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time."

1:21The people were waiting for Zacharias, and they marveled while he delayed in the temple. 1:22When he came out, he could not speak to them, and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple. He continued making signs to them, and remained mute. 1:23It happened, when the days of his service were fulfilled, he departed to his house. 1:24After these days Elizabeth, his wife, conceived, and she hid herself five months, saying, 1:25"Thus has the Lord done to me in the days in which he looked at me, to take away my reproach among men."

Even The Righteous Before Yahweh Can Be Childless

Doesn't 1:6 show that both Zacharias and Elizabeth were righteous before Yahweh, walking blamelessly in all his commandments and ordinances? Nevertheless, doesn't 1:7 still show that they were childless, seeing that Elizabeth was barren? Isn't it therefore the case that being righteous before Yahweh does not guarantee that one will indeed have children? Isn't it therefore the case that one can still be barren despite one being righteous before Yahweh?

Why Some Righteous Servants Of Yahweh Are Barren

Why are some righteous servants of Yahweh barren? Is it on account of their sin, or that of their parents, or on account of the future manifestation of Yahweh's glory in their lives?

Isn't it also the case that both Zacharias and Elizabeth were passed their time for conceiving and bearing children, seeing that they were well advanced in years?

Wasn't John a child for Yahweh's glorification, seeing that he would be born to Zacharias and Elizabeth despite their both having passed the normal time for child conception, bearing and giving birth? Did not Yahweh miraculously ensure that John was born to Zacharias and Elizabeth?

Believe Yahweh Words Even When Their Fulfilment Appears Unlikely

Isn't it important for us to believe Yahweh's words to us through his servants, however unlikely their fulfilment appears to human eyes? Is anything too hard for Yahweh, that he cannot give a child to a barren couple passed their normal child conceiving, bearing and giving birth ages?

Did Zacharias Request A Son?

Did not the angel Gabriel tell Zacharias that his request had been heard, and then proceeded to tell him that his wife would indeed conceive and bear a son? Did not Zacharias' response indicate that he had not at that particular point in time made a request to Yahweh that he be given a son? Didn't he disbelieve the message Gabriel delivered to him, indicating that he had not at the time he went into the temple to burn incense make request to Yahweh to be given a son?

Then why did Gabriel tell Zacharias that his request had been heard?

Was it because Zacharias had made this request a long time ago and had probably forgotten about it at the time Gabriel appeared to him? Isn't it plausible that he had forgotten it due to the advancement in years of both he and his wife? Nevertheless, isn't it also the case that Yahweh does not forget the requests we make to him, however long ago it was that we made the requests to him? Doesn't it therefore appear that Gabriel was indeed right that Yahweh had heard Zacharias' prayer, and was now answering that prayer according to Yahweh's appointed time, rather than the time Zacharias and Elizabeth might have thought they would receive answer? Doesn't Yahweh respond at his appointed times rather than our own?

Elizabeth's Barrenness Was For Yahweh's Glorification

Doesn't it appear that Elizabeth was childless for several years for Yahweh's glorification, seeing that Yahweh had appointed that she would bear Yahweh's prophet who was to prepare the way before his anointed one, the Messiah?

It Is A Reproach For A Woman To Be Barren

Isn't it clear from Elizabeth's words in 1:25 that it is indeed a reproach among human beings for a woman to be barren? Wasn't Elizabeth in reproach among humans despite having been a righteous woman before Yahweh, walking blamelessly in Yahweh's word? Doesn't this show that some righteous women are indeed in reproach among humans? Doesn't this show that some are in reproach on account of being barren?

Yahweh Facilitated Elizabeth's Conception, Bearing And Giving Birth

Isn't it clear that it is Yahweh who facilitated Elizabeth conceiving, bearing and giving birth to a son, and doing this at a time when she was passed the normal time for so conceiving, bearing and giving birth? Shouldn't human beings rely on Yahweh to provide them with children, seeing that those he provides with children have them, and those he denies do not have them? Shouldn't human beings understand that the conception, bearing and giving birth of children is a matter for Yahweh to determine, and not for human beings? Shouldn't human beings leave such matters to Yahweh, rather than attempt to interfere in an area that is not theirs, seeing this area belongs to Yahweh?

Believe All Of Yahweh's Words

Isn't it also the case that we should believe whatever word it is that we receive from Yahweh, seeing that disbelieving Yahweh's word has adverse consequences? Didn't Zacharias become mute on account of disbelieving Yahweh's word? Shouldn't we therefore fear to disbelieve Yahweh, lest some adverse consequence befall us?

The Hearts Of Fathers Should Be Turned To Their Children

Doesn't 1:17 imply that the hearts of fathers should be turned to their children? Who are the fathers whose hearts were to be turned to their children? Who are the children referred to? Are the children the children of Israel? Are their fathers Yahweh the Father and Yah'shuah the Son, also called the Everlasting Father? Wasn't John to turn the hearts of Yahweh and Yah'shuah towards the children of Israel, when the disobedient - the children of Israel - repented of their sins and turned to Yahweh and Yah'shuah?

Shouldn't the hearts of parents be turned to their children? Shouldn't children listen to their parents to facilitate their parents' hearts being turned towards them? And shouldn't parents provide for their children to facilitate the hearts of their children being turned towards them?

Prophecy Concerning Yah'shuah's Birth

Luke 1:26-38 reads,

1:26Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 1:27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 1:28Having come in to her, the angel said, "Rejoice, you highly favored one! The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women!"

1:29But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered what kind of salutation this might be. 1:30The angel said to her, "Don’t be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 1:31Behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and will call his name ‘Jesus.’ 1:32He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give to him the throne of his father, David, 1:33and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. There will be no end of his kingdom."

1:34Mary said to the angel, "How will this be, seeing I am a virgin?"

1:35The angel answered her, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the holy one who is born from you will be called the Son of God. 1:36Behold, Elizabeth, your relative, also has conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 1:37For no word from God will be void of power."

1:38Mary said, "Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it to me according to your word."

The angel departed from her.

Yahweh Facilitates Conception By The Holy Spirit

Doesn't the word of Gabriel to Mary show that Yahweh facilitates conception of women in impossible human circumstances by the power of the Holy Spirit? Wasn't this the manner Mary conceived Yah'shuah while she was still a virgin? Isn't this the manner that Elizabeth's conception was facilitated even though she had ceased from ability to conceive after the manner of women? Isn't it truly the case that no word from Yahweh is void of power?

Yahweh Magnified His Mercy Towards Elizabeth

Luke 1:57-66 reads,

1:57Now the time that Elizabeth should give birth was fulfilled, and she brought forth a son. 1:58Her neighbors and her relatives heard that the Lord had magnified his mercy towards her, and they rejoiced with her. 1:59It happened on the eighth day, that they came to circumcise the child; and they would have called him Zacharias, after the name of the father. 1:60His mother answered, "Not so; but he will be called John."

1:61They said to her, "There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name." 1:62They made signs to his father, what he would have him called.

1:63He asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, "His name is John."

They all marveled. 1:64His mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue freed, and he spoke, blessing God. 1:65Fear came on all who lived around them, and all these sayings were talked about throughout all the hill country of Judea. 1:66All who heard them laid them up in their heart, saying, "What then will this child be?" The hand of the Lord was with him.

How Yahweh Magnified His Mercy Towards Elizabeth

Doesn't 1:58 state that Yahweh had magnified his mercy towards Elizabeth? Wasn't the manner Yahweh so magnified his mercy towards her removing her reproach from among humans, seeing that she had been childless for many years? Isn't the removal of reproach over one the manifestation of Yahweh's mercy over one?

Was Sin Involved In Elizabeth's Barrenness?

Doesn't the magnification of mercy towards one imply an element of forgiveness of sin? Might not this suggest that Elizabeth's barrenness might have existed on account of sin, possibly that of her ancestors, and that Yahweh now forgave this sin by giving her a child? Doesn't this suggest that Yahweh's mercy is essential in the removal of a reproach a person bears?

Cry To Yahweh For The Removal Of Your Reproach

Shouldn't Yahweh's faithful servants in reproach, however caused, cry to Yahweh to show his mercy towards them, to remove them from their reproach? Shouldn't Yahweh's servants in reproach believe his word concerning his manner of removing them from their reproach? Shouldn't Yahweh's faithful servants act upon Yahweh's word that their reproach might indeed be removed from them at Yahweh's appointed time?

Yah'shuah's Childhood

Luke 2:21-52 reads,

2:21When eight days were fulfilled for the circumcision of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

2:22When the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord 2:23(as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord"), 2:24and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, "A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons."

2:25Behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. 2:26It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 2:27He came in the Spirit into the temple. When the parents brought in the child, Jesus, that they might do concerning him according to the custom of the law, 2:28then he received him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,

2:29"Now let you your servant depart, Lord,
According to your word, in peace;

2:30For my eyes have seen your salvation,
2:31Which you have prepared before the face of all peoples;

2:32A light for revelation to the Gentiles,
The glory of your people Israel."

2:33Joseph and his mother were marveling at the things which were spoken concerning him, 2:34and Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, "Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against. 2:35Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul, that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed."

2:36There was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher (she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity, 2:37and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshipping with fastings and petitions night and day. 2:38Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.

2:39When they had accomplished all things that were according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth. 2:40The child grew, and grew strong in spirit, filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him. 2:41His parents went every year to Jerusalem at the feast of the Passover.

2:42When he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast, 2:43and when they had fulfilled the days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. Joseph and his mother didn’t know it, 2:44but supposing him to be in the company, they went a day’s journey, and they looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances. 2:45When they didn’t find him, they returned to Jerusalem, looking for him. 2:46It happened after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them, and asking them questions. 2:47All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. 2:48When they saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you."

2:49He said to them, "Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?" 2:50They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them. 2:51He went down with them, and came to Nazareth. He was subject to them, and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. 2:52Jesus advanced in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Fulfil The Requirements Of Yahweh's Word With Respect To Your Children

Isn't it clear that both Joseph and Mary fulfilled the requirements of Yahweh's word with respect to Yah'shuah? Shouldn't parents follow their example and fulfil the requirements of Yahweh's word with respect to their children?

Children Acquire A Measure Of Independence From Their Parents As They Grow Older

Doesn't Yah'shuah's example when he was twelve years old show that there comes a time when a son does not have to tell his parents every single thing that he does, the son having acquired a measure of independence from his parents? Shouldn't parents allow their sons a measure of independence as they grow older and are able to properly use that increased measure of independence?

Exercise Responsibility For Your Children

Don't the examples of Joseph and Mary show that they were responsible parents, concerned for the welfare of their children? Did they not seek out Yah'shuah when they thought that he was lost? Shouldn't parents exercise appropriate parental responsibility for their children? Shouldn't parents ensure that they are aware of the whereabouts of their children as all times?

Be Subject To Your Parents

Doesn't 2:51 clearly show that Yah'shuah was subject to Joseph and Mary? Shouldn't children follow the example set for them by young Yah'shuah, and indeed be subject to their parents?

Imitate Your Parents' Good Behaviour

Luke 6:31-35 reads,

6:31"As you desire that men should do to you, likewise do to them also. 6:32If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 6:33If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 6:34If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back as much. 6:35But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.

In order to be the Father's children aren't we supposed to behave towards others in the manner that he does? Doesn't this show that children are supposed to behave as their parents behave? And doesn't this further imply that parents ought to behave righteously, that their children may imitate righteous behaviour?

Yah'shuah Came To Divide Parents From Their Children

Luke 12:51-53 reads,

12:51Do you think that I have come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, no, but rather division. 12:52For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 12:53They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law."

Doesn't Yah'shuah show that his word would result in divisions between generations in families, with parents divided from their children and children-in-law? Isn't this division the result of following Yah'shuah's word against the wishes of family members opposed to Yah'shuah's word?

It Is In Order For A Son And His Wife To Live Together With His Parents

Doesn't the example given by Yah'shuah show a family made up of a father, a mother, a son and his wife and a daughter? Doesn't this suggest that it is in order for a married son and his wife to live together with his parents?

Do Not Follow Your Parents' Word When It Is Different From Yah'shuah's Word

Nevertheless, considering that a division has arisen between the father and his son, isn't it clear that the son is not obligated to follow the words of his father not in harmony with Yah'shuah's word? Isn't it also the case that a daughter is not obligated to follow her parents' word when this is in conflict with Yah'shuah's word, seeing she must love Yah'shuah above the love she has for her parents? In other words, isn't it clear that children are not obligated to follow their parents' word when their word is in conflict with Yahweh's word?

Renounce All That You Have For Yah'shuah

Luke 14:25-33 reads,

14:25Now great multitudes went with him. He turned and said to them, 14:26"If anyone comes to me, and doesn’t hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he can’t be my disciple. 14:27Whoever doesn’t bear his own cross, and come after me, can’t be my disciple. 14:28For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it? 14:29Or perhaps, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, everyone who sees begins to mock him, 14:30saying, ‘This man began to build, and wasn’t able to finish.’ 14:31Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 14:32Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an envoy, and asks for conditions of peace. 14:33So therefore whoever of you who doesn’t renounce all that he has, he can’t be my disciple.

Isn't it clear that to be a disciple of Yah'shuah we must renounce all that we have, including even our parents, children and our own lives? Are we prepared to truly become Yah'shuah's disciples, seeing that the cost in this life for so doing is high?

The Son Who Lived Riotously

Luke 15:11-32 reads,

15:11He said, "A certain man had two sons. 15:12The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of your property.’ He divided his living to them. 15:13Not many days after, the younger son gathered all of this together and took his journey into a far country. There he wasted his property with riotous living. 15:14When he had spent all of it, there arose a severe famine in that country, and he began to be in need. 15:15He went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed pigs. 15:16He wanted to fill his belly with the husks that the pigs ate, but no one gave him any. 15:17But when he came to himself he said, ‘How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough to spare, and I’m dying with hunger! 15:18I will get up and go to my father, and will tell him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight. 15:19I am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants."’

15:20"He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. 15:21The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight. I am no more worthy to be called your son.’

15:22"But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. 15:23Bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat, and celebrate; 15:24for this, my son, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’ They began to be merry.

15:25"Now his elder son was in the field. As he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 15:26He called one of the servants to him, and asked what was going on. 15:27He said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him safe and sound.’ 15:28But he was angry, and would not go in. Therefore his father came out, and begged him. 15:29But he answered his father, ‘Behold, these many years I served you, and I never disobeyed a commandment of yours, and you never gave me a goat, that I might celebrate with my friends. 15:30But when this, your son, came, who has devoured your living with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.’

15:31"He said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. 15:32But it was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for this, your brother, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’"

It Is Not Inappropriate For A Father To Give His Children Their Inheritance While He Lives

Doesn't 15:12 show that it is not inappropriate for a father to divide his property among his sons and give it to them while he is still alive? Isn't it clear that it is not inappropriate for him to wait until he is dead before his sons possess his property?

Humans Sin Under Satanic Influence

Isn't it clear from 15:17-19 that the younger son was not himself when he lived riotously and wasted his property? Doesn't this imply that he was either possessed by a spirit that caused him to so live his life, or was otherwise strongly influenced by such forces? Doesn't this imply that when humans sin they indeed do so under the influence of forces of sin - Satan and his demons?

Physical Suffering Facilitates Repentance

Isn't it clear that it took physical suffering on the part of the younger son to bring him back to himself, or back to his senses? Isn't physical suffering therefore useful for those who have sinned against Yahweh and other humans, for it facilitates their being brought back to their rightful senses? Doesn't it therefore appear that Yahweh uses physical suffering to bring us back to our senses, to bring us back from sinful ways to his righteous ways?

Have Compassion Upon Your Repentant Errant Children

Doesn't the example of the father show that parents should have compassion upon their errant children, especially when those children repent of their errors and seek forgiveness? Isn't it also appropriate to celebrate the return of an errant person from the ways of error back to the ways of righteousness? And shouldn't parents receive back into their families such repentant children?

Do Not Condone Your Children's Sins

Shouldn't it be noted from the dialogue between the father and his elder son that the younger son's errors were not condoned? Wasn't the celebration for the younger son's repentance, and not for glorifying the sinful ways of the younger son? Didn't the father's remaining property still belong to the elder son, seeing that the younger son had received his portion and had squandered it?

Teach Your Children To Be Merciful To The Repentant

Shouldn't parents teach their children to be merciful to those who are repentant of their sin? Shouldn't parents teach their children that showing mercy and rejoicing at repentance is not equated with glorifying sin? Shouldn't children learn such lessons from their parents? Shouldn't children learn Yahweh's nature from their parents, seeing that the father in the parable represents Yahweh?
