2 Chronicles 7:12-16 reads,
7:12
Yahweh appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice. 7:13If I shut up the sky so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; 7:14if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 7:15Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive, to the prayer that is made in this place. 7:16For now have I chosen and made this house holy, that my name may be there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.When we sin we incur punishment at Yahweh's hand. But when we humble ourselves, pray, seek Yahweh's face, and turn from our sins, Yahweh hears us from heaven and forgives our sin, thereby cleansing us spiritually. To secure Yahweh's forgiveness we must first forgive, from our hearts, those who sin against us, irrespective of whether or not they have sought our forgiveness, for Yahweh has made this a condition for his forgiving us our sins.
All in all, Exodus 34:6-7 reads,
34:6
Yahweh passed by before him, and proclaimed, "Yahweh! Yahweh, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth, 34:7keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children’s children, on the third and on the fourth generation."Click here to inform a friend about this article
