It Is Sin To Undertake Actions Without Seeking Yahweh's Guidance

Isaiah 30:1-5 reads,

30:1Woe to the rebellious children, says Yahweh, who take counsel, but not of me; and who make a league, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin, 30:2that set out to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt! 30:3Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion. 30:4For their princes are at Zoan, and their ambassadors are come to Hanes. 30:5They shall all be ashamed because of a people that can’t profit them, that are not a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

Who Among Us Can Dwell With The Devouring Fire?

Isaiah 33:10-17 reads,

33:10Now will I arise, says Yahweh; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted. 33:11You shall conceive chaff, you shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you. 33:12The peoples shall be as the burning of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire. 33:13Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; and, you who are near, acknowledge my might. 33:14The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling has seized the godless ones: Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us can dwell with everlasting burning? 33:15He who walks righteously, and speaks blamelessly; he who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands from taking a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking on evil: 33:16He shall dwell on high; his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. 33:17Your eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall see a land that reaches afar.

Do Not Burden Yahweh With Your Sins

Isaiah 43:15-28 reads,

43:15I am Yahweh, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King. 43:16Thus says Yahweh, who makes a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; 43:17who brings forth the chariot and horse, the army and the mighty man (they lie down together, they shall not rise; they are extinct, they are quenched as a wick): 43:18Don’t remember the former things, neither consider the things of old. 43:19Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. 43:20The animals of the field shall honor me, the jackals and the ostriches; because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen, 43:21the people which I formed for myself, that they might set forth my praise. 43:22Yet you have not called on me, Jacob; but you have been weary of me, Israel. 43:23You have not brought me of your sheep for burnt offerings; neither have you honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with offerings, nor wearied you with frankincense. 43:24You have bought me no sweet cane with money, neither have you filled me with the fat of your sacrifices; but you have burdened me with your sins, you have wearied me with your iniquities. 43:25I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins. 43:26Put me in remembrance; let us plead together: set you forth your cause, that you may be justified. 43:27Your first father sinned, and your teachers have transgressed against me. 43:28Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; and I will make Jacob a curse, and Israel a reviling.

Yahweh Forgives Us Our Sins For His Own Sake

It should be noted from 43:25 that Yahweh forgives us your transgressions and sins for his own sake! In other words, there is really nothing that we can do on our own to atone for our transgressions and sins. But Yahweh, for his own sake, graciously and mercifully forgives us our sins. Praise Yahweh! Halleluyah!

Return To Yahweh, For He Has Redeemed You

Isaiah 44:21-28 reads,

44:21Remember these things, Jacob, and Israel; for you are my servant: I have formed you; you are my servant: Israel, you shall not be forgotten by me. 44:22I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins: return to me; for I have redeemed you. 44:23Sing, you heavens, for Yahweh has done it; shout, you lower parts of the earth; break forth into singing, you mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for Yahweh has redeemed Jacob, and will glorify himself in Israel. 44:24Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, and he who formed you from the womb: I am Yahweh, who makes all things; who stretches forth the heavens alone; who spreads abroad the earth (who is with me?); 44:25who frustrates the signs of the liars, and makes diviners mad; who turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish; 44:26who confirms the word of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers; who says of Jerusalem, She shall be inhabited; and of the cities of Judah, They shall be built, and I will raise up the waste places of it; 44:27who says to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up your rivers; 44:28Who says of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure, even saying of Jerusalem, She shall be built; and of the temple, Your foundation shall be laid.

The Revelation Of The Arm Of Yahweh

Isaiah 53 reads,

53:1Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed? 53:2For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he has no form nor comeliness; and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 53:3He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we didn’t respect him. 53:4Surely he has borne our infirmities, and carried our diseases; yet we esteemed him stricken, struck of God, and afflicted. 53:5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on him; and with his stripes we are healed. 53:6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and Yahweh has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 53:7He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn’t open his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is mute, so he didn’t open his mouth. 53:8By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who among them considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living for the disobedience of my people to whom the stroke was due? 53:9They made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 53:10Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him; he has put him to grief: when you shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Yahweh shall prosper in his hand. 53:11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities. 53:12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death, and was numbered with the transgressors: yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Declare To Yahweh's People Their Disobedience And Sins

Isaiah 58 reads,

58:1Cry aloud, don’t spare, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and declare to my people their disobedience, and to the house of Jacob their sins. 58:2Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation that did righteousness, and didn’t forsake the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God.

The Fast That Yahweh Has Chosen

58:3Why have we fasted, say they, and you don’t see? Why have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge?

Behold, in the day of your fast you find your own pleasure, and exact all your labors. 58:4Behold, you fast for strife and contention, and to strike with the fist of wickedness: you don’t fast this day so as to make your voice to be heard on high. 58:5Is such the fast that I have chosen? The day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a rush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Yahweh?

58:6Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? 58:7Isn’t it to deal your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh? 58:8Then shall your light break forth as the morning, and your healing shall spring forth speedily; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Yahweh shall by your rearward. 58:9Then shall you call, and Yahweh will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, Here I am. If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking wickedly; 58:10and if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then shall your light rise in darkness, and your obscurity be as the noonday; 58:11and Yahweh will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in dry places, and make strong your bones; and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters don’t fail. 58:12Those who shall be of you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. 58:13If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy of Yahweh honorable; and shall honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words: 58:14then shall you delight yourself in Yahweh; and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth; and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father: for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.

Our Sins Hide Yahweh's Face From Us, So That He Does Not Hear Us

Isaiah 59:1-4 reads,

59:1Behold, Yahweh’s hand is not shortened, that it can’t save; neither his ear heavy, that it can’t hear: 59:2but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. 59:3For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue mutters wickedness. 59:4None sues in righteousness, and none pleads in truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

Jacob's Sins

Isaiah 59:12-20 reads,

59:12For our transgressions are multiplied before you, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them: 59:13transgressing and denying Yahweh, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. 59:14Justice is turned away backward, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and uprightness can’t enter. 59:15Yes, truth is lacking; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Yahweh saw it, and it displeased him who there was no justice. 59:16He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his own arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness, it upheld him. 59:17He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; and he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a mantle. 59:18According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, wrath to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompense. 59:19So shall they fear the name of Yahweh from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun; for he will come as a rushing stream, which the breath of Yahweh drives. 59:20A Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from disobedience in Jacob, says Yahweh.

Yahweh Judges Those Who Do Not Acknowledge Their Sin

Jeremiah 2:31-37 reads,

2:31Generation, see the word of Yahweh. Have I been a wilderness to Israel? Or a land of thick darkness? Why say my people, We are broken loose; we will come no more to you? 2:32Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me days without number. 2:33How trimmest you your way to seek love! Therefore even the wicked women have you taught your ways. 2:34Also in your skirts is found the blood of the souls of the innocent poor: you did not find them breaking in; but it is because of all these things. 2:35Yet you said, I am innocent; surely his anger is turned away from me. Behold, I will enter into judgment with you, because you say, I have not sinned. 2:36Why go you about so much to change your way? You shall be ashamed of Egypt also, as you were ashamed of Assyria. 2:37From there also shall you go forth, with your hands on your head: for Yahweh has rejected those in whom you trust, and you shall not prosper with them.

Yahweh Punishes Those Who Abandon Him For Other Entities

Jeremiah 5:19-29 reads,

5:19It shall happen, when you shall say, Why has Yahweh our God done all these things to us? Then shall you say to them, Like as you have forsaken me, and served foreign gods in your land, so shall you serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

Sins Turn Away Yahweh's Blessings

5:20Declare you this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying, 5:21Hear now this, foolish people, and without understanding; who have eyes, and don’t see; who have ears, and don’t hear: 5:22Don’t you fear me? Says Yahweh: won’t you tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it can’t pass it? And though the waves of it toss themselves, yet they can’t prevail; though they roar, yet they can’t pass over it. 5:23But this people has a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone. 5:24Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear Yahweh our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season; who preserves to us the appointed weeks of the harvest. 5:25Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withheld good from you. 5:26For among my people are found wicked men: they watch, as fowlers lie in wait; they set a trap, they catch men. 5:27As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and grew rich. 5:28They are grew fat, they shine: yes, they overpass in deeds of wickedness; they don’t plead the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may prosper; and the right of the needy they don’t judge. 5:29Shall I not visit for these things? Says Yahweh; shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

Yahweh Remembers Iniquity And Eventually Visits The Sins Of The Unrepentant

Jeremiah 14:1-10 reads,

14:1The word of Yahweh that came to Jeremiah concerning the drought. 14:2Judah mourns, and the gates of it languish, they sit in black on the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up. 14:3Their nobles send their little ones to the waters: they come to the cisterns, and find no water; they return with their vessels empty; they are put to shame and confounded, and cover their heads. 14:4Because of the ground which is cracked, because no rain has been in the land, the plowmen are put to shame, they cover their heads. 14:5Yes, the hind also in the field calves, and forsakes her young, because there is no grass. 14:6The wild donkeys stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage. 14:7Though our iniquities testify against us, work you for your name’s sake, Yahweh; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you. 14:8You hope of Israel, the Savior of it in the time of trouble, why should you be as a sojourner in the land, and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to stay for a night? 14:9Why should you be like a scared man, as a mighty man who can’t save? yet you, Yahweh, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; don’t leave us. 14:10Thus says Yahweh to this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore Yahweh does not accept them; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.

Seek Good From Yahweh For His Name's Sake

Jeremiah 14:20-21 reads,

14:20We acknowledge, Yahweh, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers; for we have sinned against you. 14:21Do not abhor us, for your name’s sake; do not disgrace the throne of your glory: remember, don’t break your covenant with us.

Why Has Yahweh Pronounced All This Great Evil Against Us?

Jeremiah 16 reads,

16:1The word of Yahweh came also to me, saying, 16:2You shall not take a wife, neither shall you have sons or daughters, in this place. 16:3For thus says Yahweh concerning the sons and concerning the daughters who are born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bore them, and concerning their fathers who became the father of them in this land: 16:4They shall die grievous deaths: they shall not be lamented, neither shall they be buried; they shall be as dung on the surface of the ground; and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their dead bodies shall be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth. 16:5For thus says Yahweh, Don’t enter into the house of mourning, neither go to lament, neither bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, says Yahweh, even lovingkindness and tender mercies. 16:6Both great and small shall die in this land; they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them; 16:7neither shall men break bread for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother. 16:8You shall not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink. 16:9For thus says Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

16:10It shall happen, when you shall show this people all these words, and they shall tell you, Why has Yahweh pronounced all this great evil against us? Or what is our iniquity? Or what is our sin that we have committed against Yahweh our God? 16:11Then shall you tell them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, says Yahweh, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshiped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law; 16:12and you have done evil more than your fathers; for, behold, you walk every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that you don’t listen to me: 16:13therefore will I cast you forth out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers; and there shall you serve other gods day and night; for I will show you no favor.

16:14Therefore, behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that it shall no more be said, As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; 16:15but, As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries where he had driven them. I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers. 16:16Behold, I will send for many fishermen, says Yahweh, and they shall fish them up; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks. 16:17For my eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from my face, neither is their iniquity concealed from my eyes. 16:18First I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations. 16:19Yahweh, my strength, and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, to you shall the nations come from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, even vanity and things in which there is no profit. 16:20Shall a man make to himself gods, which yet are no gods? 16:21Therefore, behold, I will cause them to know, this once will I cause them to know my hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is Yahweh.

Consequences Of The Sin Of Judah

Jeremiah 17:1-4 reads,

17:1The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is engraved on the tablet of their heart, and on the horns of your altars; 17:2while their children remember their altars and their Asherim by the green trees on the high hills. 17:3My mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures for a spoil, and your high places, because of sin, throughout all your borders. 17:4You, even of yourself, shall discontinue from your heritage that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you don’t know: for you have kindled a fire in my anger which shall burn forever.

Yahweh Corrects Israel In Measure, And In No Way Leaves Israel Unpunished

Jeremiah 30:10-15 reads,

30:10Therefore don’t you be afraid, O Jacob my servant, says Yahweh; neither be dismayed, Israel: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. 30:11For I am with you, says Yahweh, to save you: for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have scattered you, but I will not make a full end of you; but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished. 30:12For thus says Yahweh, Your hurt is incurable, and your wound grievous. 30:13There is none to plead your cause, that you may be bound up: you have no healing medicines. 30:14All your lovers have forgotten you; they don’t seek you: for I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins were increased. 30:15Why cry you for your hurt? Your pain is incurable: for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins were increased, I have done these things to you.

Yahweh Will Forgive Israel's Iniquity, And Israel's Sin Will He Remember No More

Jeremiah 31:31-34 reads,

31:31Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 31:32not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband to them, says Yahweh. 31:33But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people: 31:34and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh; for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says Yahweh: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.

Is There Anything Too Hard For Yahweh?

Jeremiah 32:26-44 reads,

32:26Then came the word of Yahweh to Jeremiah, saying, 32:27Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me? 32:28Therefore thus says Yahweh: Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it: 32:29and the Chaldeans, who fight against this city, shall come and set this city on fire, and burn it, with the houses, on whose roofs they have offered incense to Baal, and poured out drink-offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger. 32:30For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done only that which was evil in my sight from their youth; for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, says Yahweh. 32:31For this city has been to me a provocation of my anger and of my wrath from the day that they built it even to this day; that I should remove it from before my face, 32:32because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 32:33They have turned to me the back, and not the face: and though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not listened to receive instruction. 32:34But they set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it. 32:35They built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech; which I didn’t command them, neither did it come into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

Yahweh Will Give Israelites One Heart And One Way That They May Fear Him Forever

32:36Now therefore thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof you say, It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: 32:37Behold, I will gather them out of all the countries, where I have driven them in my anger, and in my wrath, and in great indignation; and I will bring them again to this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: 32:38and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: 32:39and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: 32:40and I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from following them, to do them good; and I will put my fear in their hearts, that they may not depart from me. 32:41Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul. 32:42For thus says Yahweh: Like as I have brought all this great evil on this people, so will I bring on them all the good that I have promised them. 32:43Fields shall be bought in this land, whereof you say, It is desolate, without man or animal; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans. 32:44Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe the deeds, and seal them, and call witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the hill-country, and in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the South: for I will cause their captivity to return, says Yahweh.

Yahweh Will Cleanse Israel And Judah From All Their Iniquity

Jeremiah 33:7-8 reads,

33:7I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first. 33:8I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned against me, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

Turn From Sin When Yahweh Prophesies Evil Against You

Jeremiah 36:1-3 reads,

36:1It happened in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying, 36:2Take a scroll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day. 36:3It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

It should be noted that it is a purpose of Yahweh in warning of evil on a person before it comes about, that the person turns from his sinful way and he may forgive the person.

Yahweh Brings Evil On A People Because Of Their Sin

Jeremiah 40:1-3 reads,

40:1The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah, who were carried away captive to Babylon. 40:2The captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him, Yahweh your God pronounced this evil on this place; 40:3and Yahweh has brought it, and done according as he spoke: because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come on you.

Evil Comes Upon Those Who Sin Against Yahweh

Jeremiah 44:20-30 reads,

44:20Then Jeremiah said to all the people, to the men, and to the women, even to all the people who had given him who answer, saying, 44:21The incense that you burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, didn’t Yahweh remember them, and didn’t it come into his mind, 44:22so that Yahweh could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which you have committed? Therefore is your land become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day. 44:23Because you have burned incense, and because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not obeyed the voice of Yahweh, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened to you, as it is this day.

Whose Word Shall Stand, Yahweh's, Or That Of Sinners?

44:24Moreover Jeremiah said to all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of Yahweh, all Judah who are in the land of Egypt: 44:25Thus says Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel, saying, You and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and with your hands have fulfilled it, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink-offerings to her: establish then your vows, and perform your vows. 44:26Therefore hear the word of Yahweh, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says Yahweh, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, As the Lord Yahweh lives. 44:27Behold, I watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them. 44:28Those who escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, few in number; and all the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose word shall stand, mine, or theirs. 44:29This shall be the sign to you, says Yahweh, that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil: 44:30Thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of those who seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy, and sought his life.

A Person Who Sins Grievously Is Unclean

Lamentations 1:8-9 reads,

1:8Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she is become as an unclean thing;

All who honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness:

Yes, she sighs, and turns backward.

1:9Her filthiness was in her skirts; she didn’t remember her latter end;

Therefore is she come down wonderfully; she has no comforter:

See, Yahweh, my affliction; for the enemy has magnified himself.

Warn Everyone To Turn Away From Sin That They Die Not

Ezekiel 3:16-21 reads,

3:16It happened at the end of seven days, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 3:17Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. 3:18When I tell the wicked, You shall surely die; and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at your hand. 3:19Yet if you warn the wicked, and he doesn’t turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. 3:20Again, when a righteous man does turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die: because you have not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at your hand. 3:21Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man, that the righteous not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning; and you have delivered your soul.

Do Righteousness That Yahweh May Deliver You Out Of The Calamity Upon The Wicked

Ezekiel 14:12-23 reads,

14:12The word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 14:13Son of man, when a land sins against me by committing a trespass, and I stretch out my hand on it, and break the staff of the bread of it, and send famine on it, and cut off from it man and animal; 14:14though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, says the Lord Yahweh. 14:15If I cause evil animals to pass through the land, and they ravage it, and it be made desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the animals; 14:16though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only should be delivered, but the land should be desolate. 14:17Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off from it man and animal; 14:18though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only should be delivered themselves. 14:19Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my wrath on it in blood, to cut off from it man and animal; 14:20though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, they should deliver neither son nor daughter; they should but deliver their own souls by their righteousness. 14:21For thus says the Lord Yahweh: How much more when I send my four sore judgments on Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil animals, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and animal! 14:22Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be carried forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth to you, and you shall see their way and their doings; and you shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought on it. 14:23They shall comfort you, when you see their way and their doings; and you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, says the Lord Yahweh.
