Conclusion

Yahweh's sheep are his people. Yahweh's shepherds are the people he appoints to lead his people. His shepherds are to lead his people according to his word, and his people are to obey his word by his shepherds. His shepherds should show compassion upon his people, taking good care of them, defending them against their enemies and even risking their lives in defending them against their enemies.

When Yahweh's shepherds lead his people according to Yahweh's words they are indeed blessed, dwelling in safety and security in their own allotted territory. But when Yahweh's people depart from his words into sin, on account of their shepherds not leading them according to Yahweh's word, Yahweh allows their enemies to overpower them and scatter them.

Good shepherds should not just stand and do nothing when Yahweh's people are strayed and scattered. They should seek out these people from their sinful lives and bring them back to their fold - through the way of Yahweh's righteousness and back to Yahweh himself. This entails delivering Yahweh's word to them in the places of their scattering, and by drawing them to Yahweh they indeed gather them in one place, the fold Yahweh has prepared for them.

With respect to the future Yahweh has revealed that the man close to him, the man of his right hand, his Anointed One, Yah'shuah, will indeed shepherd over his people Israel. Yah'shuah will gather Israel from the various lands of their scattering, and also gather them from their sins, and restore them to Yahweh's righteousness and also in the land of Israel, their own allotted land and place. Yah'shuah is also Shepherd to all peoples and nations. He will also gather these from their strayed ways of sin and bring them to Yahweh's righteousness, pardoning them their iniquities, thereby showing them mercy and delivering them from the Death of Sheol!

In essence, good shepherding leads Yahweh's people to Yahweh, for it entails abiding by Yahweh's word on the part of both shepherd and sheep. Bad shepherding drives people away from Yahweh and into sin, on the part of both shepherd and sheep. Yahweh's appointed shepherds should therefore abide by Yahweh's word and lead Yahweh's people according to Yahweh's word that good may come Yahweh's people, including the shepherds.
