False Prophetesses

Ezekiel 13 reads,

13:1The word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 13:2Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say you to those who prophesy out of their own heart, Hear you the word of Yahweh: 13:3Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! 13:4Israel, your prophets have been like foxes in the waste places. 13:5You have not gone up into the gaps, neither built up the wall for the house of Israel, to stand in the battle in the day of Yahweh. 13:6They have seen falsehood and lying divination, who say, Yahweh says; but Yahweh has not sent them: and they have made men to hope that the word would be confirmed. 13:7Haven’t you seen a false vision, and haven’t you spoken a lying divination, in that you say, Yahweh says; but I have not spoken? 13:8Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have spoken falsehood, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, says the Lord Yahweh. 13:9My hand shall be against the prophets who see false visions, and who divine lies: they shall not be in the council of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and you shall know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

13:10Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there is no peace; and when one builds up a wall, behold, they daub it with whitewash: 13:11tell those who daub it with whitewash, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and you, great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall tear it. 13:12Behold, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said to you, Where is the daubing with which you have daubed it? 13:13Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: I will even tear it with a stormy wind in my wrath; and there shall be an overflowing shower in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to consume it. 13:14So will I break down the wall that you have daubed with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation of it shall be uncovered; and it shall fall, and you shall be consumed in the midst of it: and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 13:15Thus will I accomplish my wrath on the wall, and on those who have daubed it with whitewash; and I will tell you, The wall is no more, neither those who daubed it; 13:16to wit, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, says the Lord Yahweh.

13:17You, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy you against them, 13:18and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the women who sew pillows on all elbows, and make kerchiefs for the head of persons of every stature to hunt souls! Will you hunt the souls of my people, and save souls alive for yourselves? 13:19You have profaned me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to kill the souls who should not die, and to save the souls alive who should not live, by your lying to my people who listen to lies. 13:20Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against your pillows, with which you there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms; and I will let the souls go, even the souls who you hunt to make them fly. 13:21Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. 13:22Because with lies you have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, and be saved alive: 13:23Therefore you shall no more see false visions, nor practice divination. I will deliver my people out of your hand; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

It should be noted that false prophecy is not the preserve of prophets, seeing that there are also false prophetesses. These prophesy out of their own heart, rather than transmit Yahweh's words to those it is to be transmitted to. They attribute their own prophecies to Yahweh, despite Yahweh not having spoken to them. They therefore cause their listeners to trust in lies, which are propagated in Yahweh's name!

An Objective Of Prophecy

An objective of prophecy is to give joy to the heart of the righteous, and to weaken the hands of the wicked, that they may return from their wicked way and be saved alive in righteousness. Nevertheless, false prophets and prophetesses who see false visions and practice divination cause the very opposite of this objective. As a result of their falsely prophesying to Yahweh's people he will punish them.

Don't Profane Yahweh By Attributing To Him What Originates In Your Heart

Women servants of Yahweh should take heed, and not attribute to Yahweh what originates in their own heart. For attributing to Yahweh what originates from our own hearts, especially when it is lies, is profaning Yahweh's name! And Yahweh punishes those who profane his name and cause his people to believe in what is not true.

Don't Deliver Yahweh's Word In Exchange For Property

It should be noted that false prophetesses prophesy in exchange for property. Nevertheless, Yahweh's true servants do not deliver his words in exchange for property. Their master is Yahweh and they receive their sustenance from Yahweh in ways Yahweh provides for them. Also Proverbs 23:23 reads,

23:23Buy the truth, and don’t sell it:
Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.

Yahweh's servants are therefore forbidden from selling his truth - his words. They must therefore deliver it without trading it for property.

Some Angels With Wings Look Like Women

Zechariah 5:5-11 reads,

5:5Then the angel who talked with me came forward, and said to me, "Lift up now your eyes, and see what is this that is appearing."

5:6I said, "What is it?"

He said, "This is the ephah basket that is appearing." He said moreover, "This is their appearance in all the land 5:7(and, behold, a talent of lead was lifted up); and this is a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah basket." 5:8He said, "This is Wickedness;" and he threw her down into the midst of the ephah basket; and he threw the weight of lead on its mouth.

5:9Then lifted I up my eyes, and saw, and, behold, there were two women, and the wind was in their wings. Now they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah basket between earth and the sky. 5:10Then said I to the angel who talked with me, "Where are these carrying the ephah basket?"

5:11He said to me, "To build her a house in the land of Shinar. When it is prepared, she will be set there in her own place."

There are angels with wings who look like women, just as there are angels with wings who look like men.
